Wisconsin 12th Volunteer Infantgry Regiment


HISTORICAL NOTES:
The 12th Wisconsin Infantry Regiment served primarily in the western theatre, participating in battles and campaigns including the Siege of Vicksburg, the Jackson expedition, and Sherman's March to the Sea.

Dyer states that the regiment lost during service 3 Officers and 93 Enlisted men killed and mortally wounded and 3 Officers and 224 Enlisted men by disease. Total 323. Wisconsin in the War puts the loss at 329.
