2nd Maine Cavalry


Historical Notes HISTORICAL NOTES:
The 2nd Regiment, Maine Cavalry was organized at Augusta, Maine, and mustered in January 12, 1864. They mustered out December 6, 1865, and were discharged at Augusta, Maine, December 21, 1865.

The 2nd Cavalry had two Officers and 8 Enlisted men killed and mortally wounded; 334 Enlisted men died of disease. Total 344.
