HISTORICAL NOTES:
The Louisiana 4th Cavalry Regiment was mustered into Confederate service in February, 1864 and was formed by consolidating Louisiana independent companies. It served in the Trans-Mississippi Department and skirmished within the state. The unit disbanded during the spring of 1865.
