HISTORICAL NOTES:
The 84th Illinois Infantry was organized at Quincy, Illinois, and mustered in September 1, 1862. It left the state for Louisville, Ky., September 23. It moved to Nashville, Tennessee, and had duty there until June 1865. The regiment mustered out at Nashville, Tennessee, June 8, and was discharged June 16, 1865.
The Regiment lost during service 4 Officers and 120 Enlisted men killed and mortally wounded and 1 Officer and 144 Enlisted men by disease. Total 269.
