Georgia 23rd Cavalry Battalion State Guards



Historical Notes:
This battalion was organized 4 August 1863 for six months to serve as local defense in that portion of the State south of the Muscogee Railroad and South Western Railroad to Echeconnee Creek and south of said creek to the Ocmulgee River, thence south of the Altamaha River to the Atlantic coast. Rosters:
