HISTORICAL NOTES:
The 2nd Battalion, District of Columbia Infantry was organized at Washington, D.C., for the defense of that city April, 1861. It was at Great Falls July 7, 1861 and mustered out July, 1861.

Attached to Mansfield's Command, Dept. of Washington, to June, 1861.
Stone's Expedition to July, 1861
SERVICE:
Duty in the Defenses of Washington, D. C, until June, 1861.
Expedition to Rockville, Md., June 10-July 7.
Seneca Mills June 14. Great Falls July 7, 1861.
