The 5th Regiment, Tennessee Cavalry was organized at Murfreesboro, Nashville and Carthage, Tenn., July 15, 1862. The Regiment lost during service 1 Officer and 68 Enlisted men killed and mortally wounded and 1 Officer and 175 Enlisted men by disease. Total 245.
