Historical Notes:
Colonel James F. Franklin. Raised 1863 and operated within Federal lines. Prisoner of war records show some part of organization formed within Confederate lines. Records show the captains were Company “G”, E. 0. Clifford; others R. G. Grundy, Wilson, Phillips, The unit merged into the 21st (Wilson's) Cavalry. This roster contains the names of 2 men, Captain E. O. Clifford, and Private R. C. Crabb.
