5From unofficial sources it is learned that he was later captured and imprisoned in the old capitol building at Washington, and then at Johnson's Island until July __, 1865. The muster roll of Co. H of December 31, 1861, shows that Lieutenant Grimke Rhett, of Co. H, was then acting Adjutant, and the regimental muster roll of February 28, 1862, shows that he was still so acting at the making of that roll. The regimental return for March, 1862, shows that Lieutenant John C. McLemore, of Co. B, was acting Adjutant at the making of that return.
