McLemore, John Caldwell - promoted from 1st Lieutenant between February 28, and August 29, 1862; wounded at Second Manassas. The unofficial compilation records him as having been wounded at the Wilderness. Subsequently died of his wounds. September 19, 1862, is the date given on Rivers's "Roll of Honor" of the Confederate dead of South Carolina.
Blease, Basil Manly - promoted from 2nd Lieutenant between October 31, and December 31, 1862; resigned August 6, 1863.
Goggans, Daniel Pickens - promoted from 1st Lieutenant, August 6, 1863; on muster roll of December 31, 1864. It is stated on the unofficial compilation that Capt. Goggans was disabled in battle, March 31, 1865, losing a leg, and that his services terminated with the surrender.

Caldwell, James Fitz James - appointed from ranks, December 29, 1862; wounded August __, 1864; on muster roll of December 31, 1864. On the official roster of officers of the regiment, made up February 16, 1865, it is stated that upon the resignation of Captain Blease, 2nd Lieutenant Caldwell waived the right of promotion to 1st Lieutenant. From statements made to the compiler by former Lieutenant Caldwell it appears that Lieutenant Howard was elected Jr. 2nd Lieutenant before Lieutenant Caldwell's appointment as 2nd Lieutenant took effect, and when the latter was "jumped" over him from the ranks his dissatisfaction was so apparent that when the next vacancy occurred Lieutenant Caldwell, who had been promoted upon the recommendation of several officers of high rank for "distinguished skill and valor on the field of battle" of Gaines's Mill, requested that Lieutenant Howard be promoted over himself. It is stated on the unofficial compilation that he was several times severely wounded in battle, and that he was promoted to 1st Lieutenant.
