Rivers account lists D. B. Miller as the captain of this company when it was first formed about the 1st of February, 1861 and that the company was from Richland County. The company was evidently reorganized by about the 1^st of August with men from Barnwell County. I have not located a roster of this first company.

Company A was mustered into service for the war, at Richmond, Va., August 19, 1861, by Lieutenant Thos. T. Bryson, Mustering Officer.

S. - mustered in August 19, 1861; on muster roll of August 19, 1861; not on any subsequent rolls. The unofficial compilation records him as having died of disease at Suffolk, Va.

Webb, Turner - enlisted in Barnwell District, July 18, 1861; taken prisoner in Pennsylvania, July __, 1863; exchanged and rejoined February 17, 1864; on roll of August 31, 1864, as "T. Webb"; on rolls of October 31, and December 31, 1864, as "J. T. Webb" and "John T. Webb", giving same date of enlistment and other record as theretofore given for Turner Webb.

Woodward, W. H. - enlisted August 22, 1861; killed at Fredericksburg, December 13, 1862.

Wooley, Andrew - enlisted in Barnwell District, July 18, 1861; wounded at Gettysburg, July 2, 1863, and died of his wounds.

Wooley, Ely - enlisted in Barnwell District, July 18, 1861; on muster roll of June 30, 1863; not on that of August 31, 1863. The unofficial compilation records him as having been killed at Gettysburg.

Wooley, Miner W. - enlisted August 22, 1861; left with the wounded at Gettysburg and taken prisoner, July, 1863; paroled as a prisoner of war between December 31, 1863, and February 29, 1864; exchanged and rejoined, March 10, 1864; on muster roll of December 31, 1864.

Wooley, Priester - enlisted August 22, 1861; wounded at Fredericksburg, December 13, 1862; on muster roll of October 31, 1863; not on that of December 31, 1863.

Youngblood, Amos - enlisted August 22, 1861; sent to hospital from the Chickahominy; on muster roll of December 31, 1864.1
