Williams, P. E. A.
The other possibility that comes to mind is that Salubrity might have been
where his in-laws were from. My ggmother's name was Elizabeth Pickle, and
they were married in May 1865. I have anecdotal evidence that says the
Pickle family were large planatation owners in the area north of
Greenville. Since the whole Pickle clan picked up and moved to Texas a
couple of years after the war, I have a feeling they felt the hot hand of
Sherman and his marauders.

P.E.A. Williams served with the Palmetto Sharpshooters - Company I. The printed class roster (1866) from the South Carolina Medical School definitely lists his home town as "Salubrity." All the other class members are listed by city, so I can only assume that Salubrity was also a town that existed in 1866. His handwritten notes in his textbooks, however, say Hickory Grove. I know where that is, so possibly Salubrity is/was nearby.
