Duncan, Col. Perry E. ( - 17 JUL 1867)
Perry E. Duncan, a native of So. Ca. died at his residence near Albany, in South Western Georgia, July 17, 1867. Col. Duncan has resided in So. Ca. until the year 1863, when he removed from near Greenville So. Ca., to his new home in the state of Georgia. He was a man of much prominence, having been elected for many years, to represent Greenville District, in the Legislature of So. Ca. He was a member of the Convention in So. Ca, which promulgated the "Ordinance of Secession" in the City of Charleston. In all the associations of life, Col. Duncan was a genial man. Affectionate as a husband and father, kind as a neighbor and friend; liberal and patriotic as a Citizen; and honest, upright and exemplary as a man; he has passed from among his friends, full of honors and wtih deep regrets, at a ripe old age.
Mrs. Mary E. Duncan, widow of the late Col. Perry E. Duncan formerly of Greenville District So. Ca, died in the State of Mississippi, at the residence of her relative Col. J. S. McGehee, Jan'y 22, 1868, of Pneumonia, in the 54th year of her age. Col. Duncan moved with his family from Greenville District, to Southwestern Gerogia, in the year 1863, where he died in 1867....
