Charles H. Dougal, eldest son of H. P. Dougal dec'd, died in Col'a, So. Ca. July 6th, 1862 of Typhold Fever, contracted on the coast of So. Ca, while in the military service of the Confederate States. He is but one, among the many hundreds, who have been prostrated and have died, from hardships and exposure in So. Ca, in the swamps, and other unhealthy locations, in which our voluntters have been stationed. He was a young man of promise, but his career on earth has been early closed and ended.
