Mississippi 5th Infantry Regiment State Troops

Historical Notes:
The 5th Regiment, Mississippi Infantry (State Troops) (Robinson's) was organized at Meridian, September 5-6, 1862 as a unit of the Minute Men under the order of Major General T. C. Tupper. The Minute Men were organized in May 1862 under the order of Major General T. C. Tupper from militia companies in each county. The enlistment term was for six months. Although not mustered into the Confederate States services, they were still subject to orders of Confederate officers. Officers:
