GEORGIA 12th ARTILLERY BATTALION
2nd COMPANY A
This company was received into the service of the Provisional Army of Confederate States June 10, 1861, by Captain John H. Forney, Assistant Inspector General, C. S. A., near Richmond, Va. The 12th Battn. of Georgia Light Artillery served twelve months as artillery and the remainder of the war as infantry. Co. A, 63d Regiment Ga. Inf. was originally 1st Co. A, 12th Battn. Ga. Light Artillery.
