  • No record of Co. "F". The muster-in-roll of a detachment of men commanded by 1st Sergeant James M. Friels for the 8th Tennessee bore a note that the company was transferred from the 7th East Tennessee Volunteers in accordance with order dated December 22, 1862. The detachment was described as Captain James Wilson's Company of the 8th East Tennessee Infantry. There was a Captain Wilson in the 7th Tennessee Infantry, and this detachment may have been the nucleus of Co. "F", of which there is no other record.
