4th Rhode Island Infantry


HISTORICAL NOTES:

The 4th Rhode Island Infantry Regiment was organized at Providence, 1861 It left the state for Washington, D. C., October 2 and was at Camp Casey till November 28, then at Camp California till December 14. It mustered in October 30, 1861.

During the war the regiment lost 5 Officers and 68 Enlisted men killed and mortally wounded and 67 Enlisted men by disease; for a total of 140.[1]
