3rd Regiment, North Carolina Cavalry

Historical Notes:
The North Carolina 3rd Cavalry Regiment was organized at Kinston in the fall of 1862. Many of the companies had already seen service in the protection of Eastern Carolina. This regiment was organized with 1,095 men, totalled 284 in February, 1864, and surrendered 1 at Appomattox. Officers:
Colonel John A. Baker, Lieutenant Colonels Roger Moore and A.M. Waddell, and Major Charles W. McClammy, Jr Assignments:
