Ramsey's First Georgia Regiment was one of the very first units to volunteer for Confederate service. Isaac Hermann was a member of Company E when the regiment served under Stonewall Jackson in Virginia. He later resigned and joined Martin's Artillery Battery (Howell's Battalion) and saw service in Mississippi during the Vicksburg siege before being assigned to hospital duty towards the end of the war in Macon, GA.

Our edition also contains the compiled service records of Ramsey's 1st Georgia Infantry.

Ramsey's 1st Georgia Infantry was made up of the following companies:

Company A - Coweta County
Company B - Muscogee County
Company C - Houston County
Company D - Richmond County
Company E - Washington County
Company F - Fulton County
Company G - Decatur County
Company H - Lumpkin County
Company I - Richmond County
Company K - Monroe County
